Rounding out the interface is the location tool in the lower-left corner

Besides, if you really want a flyover equivalent, you always can switch over to the the aforementioned GoogleEarth. Though that requires an extra step, the option is there and like we said before, we doubt many people use flyover for navigation or location search. You'll need to download the Google Earth app, of course, but it's also free from the App Store.

Navigation takes full advantage of the iPhone's multitouch features. You can pinch and zoom, rotate the maps by spinning fingers across the display, scroll with one finer, and tip the map up and down by sliding two fingers vertically across the display. Double-tap to zoom in and out and use a single tap to get information about a specific point on the map.

Rounding out the interface is the location tool in the lower-left corner. It's shaped like an arrow (similar to Apple Maps) with your location denoted by a blue dot (also similar to Apple Maps, but less luminous). To the right of the search bar are icons for getting directions (we'll expand on that feature in the next section) and for adding your home and work addresses and seeing your Maps search history. There's also a setting for sending feedback to Google on any map problems just by shaking your phone. Below the Search bar is the familiar compass for finding your direction or locking the map to point north.

Campbell has spoken with several teams, including HC Budejovice of the Czech Extraliga

Campbell has spoken with several teams, including HC Budejovice of the Czech Extraliga, which is the team for whom Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference is currently playing.

"I'd like to get something done," said Campbell. "For me, it was a wait-and-see game as it is for many players and I think that's the approach that a lot of European teams are taking. Now is a critical time in negotiations, they feel, and we as players feel. To make a move right now when things could be close might be silly, but it's certainly something that as time has moved on I've considered more seriously.

"I want to play. It's hard to skate out here. It's a little repetitive. I think game action would suit me well."

Paille is also looking at alternatives.

Karras set a prime example of the value of hard work

Karras set a prime example of the value of hard work and dedication after he worked his way up from a mediocre player in 1955 and became a two-time All-American in 1956-57.

Current Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentzextended his condolences to Karras' family. Ferentz said the former lineman left a lasting mark on the football program, one that is still significant today.

"Alex played a key role in the success of Iowa football during his career and will always be remembered as a leader of the great Iowa teams of that era," Ferentz said in a release. "He served as an outstanding representative of Hawkeye football and the University of Iowa throughout his career."

Karras' career — his accomplishments on the field as well as his work ethic, attitude, and leadership ability — set a standard for Hawkeye football players in the future.

Washington's first touchdown came from the defense

Washington's first touchdown came from the defense. Following a 58-yard punt by Sav Rocca, the Redskins backed up Cincinnatito its 1-yard line. On second down, linebacker Ryan Kerrigan came untouched from the left and drilled Dalton as he let go of a swing pass intended for tailback BenJarvus Green-Ellis. But the ball landed instead in the hands of linebacker Rob Jackson, who made a diving catch in the end zone for the first interception and touchdown of his career.

Coupled with last week's 30-yard fumble return for a touchdown by cornerback Josh Wilson, the play gave Washington defensive touchdowns in consecutive games for the first time since 1994.

But from that point on, the defense offered few other highlights.

With Cincinnati facing second-and-20 from the Washington 48 with 3:37 left in the first quarter, Wilson fell down attempting to cover receiver Armon Binns, who caught a pass from Dalton and raced untouched for a 48-yard touchdown.

Francisco, retired federal Judge Richard Howell of New York,

Fujita was barred from Cleveland's training facility this week, but he stayed in town and worked out on his own at nearby Baldwin Wallace University in the event the suspension was lifted. Fujita, who serves on the NFLPA's executive committee, had expressed confidence he would be on the field in Week 1.

Hargrove, docked eight games, was released last month by Green Bay and is not currently with a team.

The appeals panel consisted of retired federal Judge Fern Smith of San Francisco, retired federal Judge Richard Howell of New York, and Georgetown professor James Oldham. It met in New York last week to hear arguments from the NFL Players Association, which appealed Burbank's ruling that Goodell had the authority to hear and rule on the players' appeals of their suspensions. NFL attorneys had asked the panel to affirm Burbank's ruling, but the panel sided in large part with the union.

The decision likely means that consolidated federal lawsuits brought against the NFL by Vilma and the NFLPAon behalf of the other three players are likely on hold until Goodell reissues punishment. It also spared U.S. District Judge Ginger Berrigan from having to decide before Sunday on a temporary restraining order requested by the players.

The 'G' lens with SSM drive is VERY fast, And silent. I've only had the 'G' for a few days, but I used it at a water polo tourney and every shot was a keeper. Super sharp, well saturated colors, and everything else you could ask for from a 'G' series lens. A real winner with the A700 body.

Organizers said it was thought to be the first time

At the same moment, real skydivers appeared as the stadium throbbed to the James Bond theme. And moments after that, the monarch appeared in person, accompanied by her husband, Prince Philip.

Organizers said it was thought to be the first time she has acted on film.

"The queen made herself more accessible than ever before," Boyle said.

In the stadium, Elizabeth stood solemnly while a children's choir serenaded her with "God Save the Queen," and members of the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force raised the Union Jack.

Granted, the contract particulars are as hazy

Granted, the contract particulars are as hazy as the air during a Civil War battle, but the smoke surrounding the Woods and Mickelson appearances has been hard to avoid. While the deals and dollar figures remain unconfirmed -- and it will likely stay that way -- multiple sources have repeatedly cited the same numbers: Woods is drawing $1.5 million and Mickelson is getting $1 million.

Sure, a strict pay-for-play arrangement has, and remains, against the rules on the U.S. tour. Which doesn't necessarily lessen the confusion, if not the eye-rolling. Cough, cough.

Whatever the details, and regardless of how much the high-profile pair will be expected to sing for their supper by participating in a corporate clinic, or appearing at a cocktail party, the practice of signing players to lucrative personal-services deals has widened the gulf between an increasingly stratified tournament product. One that's separated and sorted by the sponsor's wallet size.

Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany

Along with deciding how to divide the increased revenue, team selection is the other pressing issue. SEC commissioner Mike Slive has repeatedly said he wants the top four teams selected, regardless if they won their conference championships. Last season, SEC West runner-up Alabama defeated SEC West champion LSU 21-0 in the BCS National Championship Game.

But Swofford, Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany, Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott and acting Big 12 commissioner Chuck Neinas have said they preferred giving at least some preferential treatment to teams that win their leagues.

Coaches will love it, a chance for the practice time

Coaches will love it, a chance for the practice time that was rarely available to them. And veteran teams like the Celtics and Spurs could thrive with the extra time off.

The Spurs won the 1999 title after the lockout and hope they have one more run in the Tim Duncan era. They never recovered after Manu Ginobili was hurt in the regular-season finale last year and were knocked off by Memphis in one of the NBA's biggest postseason upsets.

They're healthy now and rolling into the postseason, just as they did in '99, after winning their final 10 games.

Amid the pomp and firepower of an impressive Red Sox

Amid the pomp and firepower of an impressive Red Sox home opener was the snapshot of Jacoby Ellsbury writhing in pain at second base after Rays shortstop Reid Brignac had fallen on his right shoulder.

Ellsbury, who was trying to break up a double play on Dustin Pedroia's grounder, was helped up by trainers. He held his right arm close to his body as he walked off the field.

Initial report on his injury, according to one team source: "It's not good.'' Friday night a baseball source said Ellsbury has a dislocated or partially dislocated shoulder and will miss 6-8 weeks.

Heat’s lone home game in a 13-day span

The victory extended the Heat's home winning streak to 15, now without a home loss since Jan. 22 against Milwaukee. The matchup was the Heat's lone home game in a 13-day span, with the game the start of back-to-back set that concludes Friday in Toronto.
It was a balanced effort from the Heat's stars, with Bosh and James scoring 19 apiece and Wade adding 16. It also was a well-rounded effort, with Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole, Udonis Haslem, Shane Battier and Ronny Turiaf also having their moments in supporting roles.

Hamlin then had bit of a hangover to start the 2011 season

Hamlin seemed to have a comfortable lead over Jimmie Johnson in the penultimate race of the 2010 Chase when his title hopes were derailed by a fuel strategy that backfired. Forced to pit for fuel late in the race, he scrambled just to finish 19th while Johnson was fifth.
Hamlin left the desert dejected after his lead was trimmed to 15 points and ended up losing the title the next week to Johnson, who earned his record fifth straight Sprint Cup championship.
Hamlin then had bit of a hangover to start the 2011 season and never really clicked, ending up ninth in the Sprint Cup standings.

he Dynamo’s first and last goals at Robertson Stadium

Now the Dynamo's all-time leading scorer has a chance to fulfill his goal of taking the field May 12 for the opening game at BBVA Compass Stadium.

A member of the U.S. national team for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Ching has been the face of the Dynamo organization since he scored four goals in the franchise's inaugural game in 2006 at Robertson Stadium. He scored five goals last year as captain of the 2011 Eastern Conference champions, who lost 1-0 to the Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS Cup final.

The Dynamo's first and last goals at Robertson Stadium were scored by Ching, who has tallied 51 regular-season goals since the team relocated from San Jose, Calif. He also has been one of the team's most clutch playoff performers, scoring seven goals in five postseasons with the club.
